Org. member lost to racing

well guys, a friend of mine and an Org. member died this afternoon due to racing. He and a friend were in a 12sec. Jetta racing a mustang down East Colonial (50) here in Orlando when something went wrong causing both cars to crash, cutting the Jetta in two. 3 were hurt and 98max lost his life. This is just one more reason to keep your racing to the tracks.

that is very unfortunate news..

just another reason why racing on the street really has no purpose, except on the track!

i wish their families can cope with their losses,

what was his callsign? 98max?

Fellas, these kind of things are warnings to us all. This isn't the first time we've had these stories hit the org and it's terrible.

*takes a deep sigh*

Another one.

*sigh*

Another race, another life lost.

A prayer to his friends and mostly to his family:

"The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.

I'm from Orlando also, I remember meeting him at the first Orlando meet at the West Oaks Mall... I remember having a conversation with him about springs, my car was bone stock.. without him even knowing me for less than 5 mins he offered to install my springs for free.. a really genuine guy and a very sad loss.

moderators, I know one day this will no longer be a sticky and all, is there anyway you guys can put something in his profile as a small little reminder of what happened on this day? Or something similar. Any other idea guys?

A very sad situation for his family and friends. All of our thoughts are with him.

As someone else said, keep the racing on the track and keep it safe. This is the exact reason we don't have a "street racing" or "kill" forum here.

Sorry to hear that this has happened again...tragic really. Even more tragic though, in my opinion, is what happened to the guy that Ming killed. 98max was racing (driving or not) and lost his life. He knew the dangers. We ALL know the dangers. It is a good thing that they didn't kill innocent bystanders. I am unaware of the facts in Ming's case, but it is clear he lost control of his car, and a man was killed. That is tragic. Before anybody thinks I need flamed, you should know that I am police officer, and I see this kind of stuff every so often. It seems more often than not, it is innocent people that are killed and not the perpetrators.

In June two groups of kids were racing to lunch from a highschool a half mile from my house. They made contact with each other, and one car veered accross the road and hit a light pole. Front seat passenger and a rear passenger were killed. The driver? They cut him out of the car, and he walked away. He has lost his freedom though....convicted of negligent homicide, tried as an adult, got twenty years. The driver of the other car has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter and fleeing the scene of an accident.

It's a bummer when drivers are killed street racing. It is worse when innocent people are killed.

One more thing, do you ever wonder how many .org members we lose that we don't know have died? 98max was known by others, but many on here have never had in person contact from other members. I imagine we may lose more than we think.
