guys need more advice immediately

I need to buy in a couple days because I crashed my accord last week. Have had a couple replies and apparently the 20995 sticker on the black se 2000 model I am looking at is way too much. However it does have every option including leather and only 15k! What do you think is a fair price? I have been searching the papers and internet for a week and with that low of mileage and options it is the lowest price I have found. I don't see how I can get him to go 3k under bluebook value. I really need some advice and negotiating tips.

what would you rather have, fully loaded or a 2k2 engine? I think thats where your decision needs to be made... another grand or two and you can drive around a 3.5L 255HP 2k2, but it would be a lot more base....

I know you are in a rush right now but I don't think you want to get a car very quickly. You will just be mad at yourself later on. I think you should forget about the 2000 maxima. Try to get a brand new 2k2/2k3 Maxima. You can get SE's at that price. It won't be fully loaded but the driving is different. You will feel more power with the 2k2 and you also get the HID Lights (I hope you don't live in NY/NJ). You get 33 more hp and a half liter bigger engine. You also get a gated shifter which I like a lot (if u want the auto). If you want manual you get an extra speed.
I also think the 20,995 price is a little high for a Maxima 2 years old. In a year or so it will depreciate so fast because of a brand new body change. For 20,995 you could get a 2k3 Maxima SE. If you can find 2k2 you will get a better deal! Some dealers still have 2k2 demo cars out which is just like used for even cheaper than 21K.

Good Luck!

Dude...that's not a good deal. 15,000 miles is a good selling point, but it should not raise the price of the car by $3000. That is ridiculous.

That car is worth $18000. Not a penny more.

Check kbb.com

Oh, and it might be easier if you kept all of your threads together, since the subject is the same.

Oh No! Don't ask this question! Soon there will be 4953458 Nissan owners in here saying how much it sucks. To be honest, it's not the best paint in the world, not even close to it actually (considering what people say about it). My 2k2 Maxima's paint hasnt really showed any signs of chipping yet as well it should not! It has only 1800 miles on it.

A fairly good place to get information and pricing is www.edmunds.com

I got my 2k2 with no options but floor mats, and was considering an I30t which came with much more features (mainly the limited slip differential I really cared about).

However, I am gald everyday I went with the new 2k2. The upgraded engine and transmission is one obvious difference; more subtle are things like the HID headlamps, the auto dimming rear-view mirror, the remote lowered windows, standard trip computer, and best of all knowing where every mile came from on the odometer.

Either way you will be happy. Good luck out there.

I agree, look for a 2k2

I found a slightly used (16k miles) 2k2 for a little under 20k. It is unfortunately an autotragic, no leather, sunroof, or bose. Didn't really want any of those options anyway. I'm too tall for the sunroof, from what i hear the bose sucks anyway, I do like leather, but it wasn't a selling point for me. That is pretty high for a 2000 though. Tell us what happens. . .
