Loud noise when I back up!!

Every morning now, when I reverse and kind of tap my brakes I hear this loud air horn like sound!! I'm thinking its the brakes because anywhere from 5-40mph my front right side sounds like a tree branch rubbing against my brake rotors!! Its damn terrible!
Anywho, Is that my brakes?? If so, I've replaced brake pads on my past vehicles, is the max's brake pads easy to replace? What brand and model should I get?

BTW: I never use my E-brake for anything..

Brake Grone!

Yes it's your brakes. It usually comes from the rears. You might have a caliper that needs attention. Try regreasing the slider pins, if there's nothing wrong with the caliper itself, that should cure it.

If you're not e DITer, take it to a mechanic or preferably a dealership or place that will use OEM hardware witht he correct rear clips and have it fixed ASAP. Brakes are super important.

I'm just gonna replace all four sets of brake pads tonight.. I found a step by step file on doing it and it sounds just like all the other ones i've done.. I just can't stand that sound anymore!!! Its embarassing to have a nice car and it squeaks like a run down shlt box..

Real Loud Brake Noise Backing up

I, also have the same problem and have new pads and rotors. What was the solution to your problem?. My noise only happens when the brakes were wet the previous night, Thanks.

wet brakes usually make noise initially. does the noise stop after a few minutes of driving?

there is a documented issue with the rear e-brake cables as well...they eventually sieze completely.

Brakes are a funny thing... If they sqeal ALL the time you're probably down to your squeal-tabs and you should have replaced your pads last year If they sqeal (with brand new pads) only on light braking thats normal, for a while of course, until they get "broken in" so to say. That groaning noise first thing in the AM, or after a carwash means you should have your calipers looked at... They do it more reversing because the pad is worn out braking the other way.. The car I'll bet vibrates like a **** when this groaning noise happens?? And i'll hazard to say there is dew on the car in the morning as well?
