Testing Motor Mounts on a 5spd

How can you test your engine mounts to see if they are bad or not on a 5spd?

Wow that is cool my thread is the first on the list. How did you do that?

Also it isn't exactly easy to have someone looking under your hood and putting load on the engine at the same time safely with a 5spd. Any suggestions?
