Hail Storm

Just wanted everyone to know I had the pleasure of watching tennis-ball sized hail come down on my 1 month old (for me) 98 se. I love it. It really gives the car some texture, I think it may become a trend...at least in my area here in south Austin.

Well, back to the body shop less than 3 weeks after I just dropped $350 to have a hail dent and the painfully tacky pinstripe removed.

Yikes.

Sounds like it may be time to find a covered parking option.

Do hail craters, in great enough numbers, make your Maxima drive faster, longer, straighter & cut through the air more efficiently?

Like, say. . .

A golf ball?

if this happens a lot where you live you should definitely park your car in a garage or get a portable cover solution instead of paying or having your insurance pay repeatedly and b***ching about it. Hail is dangerous for cars AND people; stay inside and let the car be "inside" as well!

Yeah, I heard a brief burst of what sounded like hail about midnight last night. I looked over my car this morning with great anxiety, but it came out unscathed. I think it's high time I cleared out the other half of my garage so I can park both cars in it, though. What part of south Austin are you in? I'm near Brodie and Wm. Cannon.

Thank god for covered parking

and the fact that I live in Cedar Park (hail seemed to miss us).

Sorry for your pain, though.

On a separate note, what do you guys do if there's no covered parking at your work? I can control the issue at home, but if hail hits the area I work, I'm pretty screwed.

Mine got hit- Little dents all over the roof Near Wm Cannon/Manchaca. I'm hoping they are minor enough for paintless repair.

I'm down just south of the intersection of Slaughter and Manchaca. Well, time to go see Don down at custom car crafters again and see what the pain is going to be. I actually bought this car after one of my neighbors drunk friends backed into the drivers side door of my Escort. Somehow despite having a vehicle description and the liscense plate number the police are unable to find enough evidence to close the case...

when it rains it hails or something like that

Hmm, interesting concept. But seriously, sorry to hear about the damage. Lucky it doesn't really ever hail where I'm from.
