Suspension Problem

I have a suspension question. I have a 95 nissan Maxima. When I am driving if I hit a bump I notice that the front right wheel sound like there is a suspension problem. It makes a thunk sound which does not sound good. Anyone have any suggestions..

Thanks!

When I am on the highway the car rides like a champion. So you believe there is a strut issue. I was looking at getting some springs and shocks. Do you think I should just do everything at once??

if you are going to replace everything at once. it will save on labor since you will be installin once instead of 2 different times.

So should I go with a normal strut or are there better ones that I can purchase. I am going to get performance springs and shocks.

well you have a lot of different choises... if you are going aftermarket performance..

KYB agx's are direct replcement shock/struts and are adjustable

are you going any lower?

h & r's are a good choice. they keep the ride comfort and lower the car a lilttle bit
eibach's are more sporty

here are some other springs
b & g
maxspeed
sprint

do a search for theres items.. there is a lot of usefull info here

There could be any number of things causing a thunk. You can't just immediately say it is suspension.

Brake pad/caliper can be mis-seated, strut tower bolts may need to be tightened, may need a new strut tower spacer.

It might not be your struts at all....Mine made "thud" noises at acceleration, deceleration, and over bumps--turned out to be upper/lower control arms and some other components. I'd get it looked at by a shop before getting springs and struts, just to find out later that the problem is still there. I'm still on the original struts/springs, going on 107K miles.....

wth are you saying? Springs are all around. Shocks in rear, struts in front. It's a MacPherson style suspension.
