96 motor in a 1998
this maybe a stupid question but will a 1996 max motor fit in a 1998?
what all would have to be changed to make this work or will it just go in?
the reason i ask is because i know that the 95/96's have differnt ecu's, emissions(meaning two O2 sensors instead of three), etc.... correct me if i am wrong on anything

so i could put a 96 motor in and put an Aftermarket 95/96 ecu and it would work like that? I dont know if the ecu would match up to all of the other electrical components on the car. If there are any difference between years.
anyone know this answer?

Ask Mardigrasmax. As far as I know, the only additional O2 sensors that the 95-96 has over the 97-99 is the cat and other similar O2 sensors. He put a 96 motor in his 98, so he would be of more help to you Josh......
BTW, remember, almost EVERY 4th Gen is OBDII...
