Anyone know if anything happens at 3.5K RPMs?

It's a little confusing. Nissan Tech wants to know the fuel pressure but the mechanics say they weren't given the proper tools to test the fuel pressure for a 2000. Sounds weird to me but this dealership isn't the type to give me the runaround so...?
In any case, they asked me to come back in so I'm going over on Friday. Hopefully, they'll be able to get further with this.

I had this same problem with my 2k 5 speed. It's the plastic intake manifold. Lots of 2k and 2k1 folks have had this problem. My dealer wanted to replace the intake but since it was not under warranty, I sold the car.

I don't know if they're BS'ing me. The car is still under warranty, and the longer they take to figure out this problem, the more it costs them money. So far, they've spent an entire day's worth of work. If they could easily check the fuel pressure, I figure they would have done so by now in order to wrap things up and move on.

Well, that's my personal logical deduction. I may still be wrong.

I went back to the dealership today. They did some more tests. They found a knock sensor issue so they're going to replace it under warranty.
I finally understand why they can't test the fuel pressure yet. Turns out they have the tool but they don't have the adapter for 2000+ Maxes. The adapter is supposed to be provided to all Nissan dealerships but Nissan (to save costs) decided to only ship them "as needed". So they're waiting for the adapter. They called other Nissan dealerships around them and none of them had the adapter. It's still weird but then again, knowing Nissan's cost saving measures, not all that surprising. We'll see next week I guess...

Well at least if the knock sensor is going that makes sence for some HP loss, but I would not have figured it to throw off everything this much.

No one is sure it's just that and whether replacing the knock sensor will fix everything. It's more of a "this car is screwed up, a knock sensor error came up, let's get that fixed and out of the way to further troubleshoot this problem. If the replaced knock sensor fixes everything, great!".

Did you check the Y-pipe as well? I know before people were doing way too much diagnostics to find misssing power and it would end up being a bad flex section. I cant remember if you said you checked it or not.
