Engine Noise. Need Help!
First, I would likes to thank you all members on this board which encouraged me to do all maint. works on my Maxima (which I never done before). I have 1997 Maxima SE- standard (168000 miles). The engine making noise (hard to explains- like oo's sounds, sound like when ready to shift from current gear to next gear when rpm high) from 1st to 5th gear on passenger front engine side. The noise only gone when- press clutch, in neutral, and over 55 mile/h on highway cruising. Car Shifting Gear is OK (not to smooth, but ok). A car still run strong uphill and fast. I just cleaned TB, replaced Spark Plug, Air filter, o2 sensor, oil, gear fluid. Please help- is a sign of transmission or timing chain or clutch going bad? If those problems, adive how to fix it. Thank you very much.
thanks,
Sam
