I found another leak

As I was inspecting my motor for leaks, I found another one in addition to the rear main seal. This one is where the upper aluminum oil pan meets the block, but on the opposite side of the rear main seal. This is where the accessory crank pulley is. Its not dripping but I dont like it when I see oil all over the side of the engine. The good news, if there is any good news is that I must drop and reseal the upper oil pan when doing the rear main seal anyway. Of course this could be bad cause it may start leaking even more. Anybody else have the oil leak from the crank pulley area?

Yeah leaks here and there. Sometimes the leaks smells like beer, sometimes the leak is stained on my car, oh wait, it was the college girls in downton Providence taking a whizz next to my car pizz drunk. Me and my friends just kept starting at her and her bum, she was cute so we did'nt mind, wish I had my digital camera for my Kodak Moment!

If I did capture that moment, it would have been one of those internet pics thingy-majingy:

Club Fee: $5
Liquor: $40
Squatting and leaking next to my Maxima: Priceless!!!

Yeah, I am going to inspect the drive shaft seal for leaks and replace if need be next weekend.

Looks like this is the front crank seal leaking. I guess since I gotta pull the drive pulley and change the seal, might as well put in a UDP??????

I this leak you are talking about 4 or 5 inches above the Oil sending unit? I have a leak there and I am trying to figure out if it is something I can fix.

Mine was also replaced in '99. That is pretty stupid. When a OEM has a problem, you don't just put the same OEM back in to have the part fail a few miles down the road when the car is out-of-warranty. That is just plain dumb, but it's the Nissan way. They oughta send Fox News in to make sure the work has actually been performed, as opposed to making the claim through the mfg. and then putting the warranty part into dealership stock, while the unsuspecting owner drives away. I have paperwork to show 3 fuel sending units and 1 fuel gauge done under warranty--gee, I wonder how many of those parts claimed through warranty actually made it onto my car?

Wow this post is still around and so's the pic wow. Anyway that was the front crank leakin I replaced the seal so far so good. Its a fairly easy and cheap job to do. Air impact helps to pull off the pulley bolt.

The yellow arrow in the picture is the direction where my oil is leaking from. I would take a picture but I don't have a digital camera so I used someones picture to give you an idea of the location.
