Do you have "while im in there...might as well..." syndrome?

Ok heres the situation- transmission is off the car. Flywheel is off the car to fix rear main seal leak. I have to pull the belts, AC compressor and Y pipe to drop the upper oil pan. Since the Y pipe will be off the car I am going to install a STS. Looks like pace setter or RVM is what to get. Since I also need a shift boot I am goign to make a shift boot.

Now, since the flywheel is off the car, I'm very tempted to get a lightened flywheel. Especially since No Limit may have them for $360 for a fidanza. Its also one of the mods that not many people have. And the ones that do have it tell me it is worth it.

Now, my front crank seal is also leaking, so I gotta pull the pulley to change the seal. So... "while im in there" I might as well put on a RVM unit for the $73.

Anybody else have this problem? Also, any recommendations for the UDP or the flywheel?

I always have that problem... while I'm doing this I might as well do this... I'm currently polishing the inside/outside of my MEVI before I put it on, and tapping it for DP nitrous, not that I deffinetly plan on using nitrous again, but might as well while I have it off... I'm mostly limited by $$$, but if you have the money, I say go for it now... that is, if your gonna keep your max...

If you're pulling the crank pulley put on the UDP. From what I've heard flywheel is a good mod too, but it's also considerably more expensive.

First you need to decide on if you want to keep the car

Yep. Always have had this problem.

That would explain why there is over 4K invested under my hood and yet, I only have 5K miles on the car.

I think if I was annoyed by working on/owning the max as much as eric was, I wouldn't be spending that much time or money modding it

I can't answer the question yet, the most tinkering I've done is tb cleaning and oil changing. But I did just snag a 251pc craftsman mechanics set at 60% off yesterday....

I say might as well. I mean if you are taking it all apart why not get as much out of it as you can.. I mean it saves you the time or the want later on.

Well if you're feeling brave, you could plasti-guage your mains and rod bearings to see if they are in specification still.

no, i have "if it is not broke, don't fix it" syndrome...
somehow i ended up with a 5spd-conversion and then upgraded again to lsd and a turbo... i dont know ? ?

haha yeah i actually think i have "while im in there..." version2.. its the "while im in there, might as well modify it" except it applies to whenever i get into my car, not take it apart.
