Hanabi's are out!!!!

They're being sold on Friday. Now that I live out in the burbs, I don't want to get pulled over by the fuzz because they are too bright. I ended up putting Silverstars in and focused them a little above spec.
The do look so dim but that's because I was used to the HID's. Silverstars matched up with my PIAA 1500XT's are a good alterative to staying legal and lighting up the road.

That stinks you had to remove them.
It actually sounded funny in your post when you said the silverstars are kind of dim. Only because when I went from stock to my SilverStars I was like "Wow, look how bright these are."

Calvin, don't be so sad. I just want a better kit later on and one that's not so bright. I may grab the HI/Lo kit later.

Sudz, I didn't have to remove them but I started to feel bad for people I was behind and the people that were coming toward me. If I would drive behind my lady while she was driving her car, she complained.

Wait til the projectors come out then get both... at this rate the Messiah should be carrying a truckload of them on his way back from Heaven.

I can see that. I have my SilverStars adjusted right and everything and I still get people flashing the lights at me, thinking I have my High beams on.

I put the Silverstars on the Honda and I thought they were bright but mainly because of the white color. They match me fogs nicely but I still wish the quality was better.

I really felt guilty because of the glare. Our housings are big and wide as hell so light was going everywhere. I'm going to do it right next time.

yeah the hanabis are see-the-future bright, projectors would help. im not to worried about the color/police factor (even though i got a ticket already) there are so many cars that come with hids from the factory.

aiming the buckets down and in helps a lot.

That's too bad Deezo. Mine's been out of my car for several months already. I think the bulbs are burnt, I didn't want to spend money to replace them, so I pop the regular bulbs back in. I noticed I get less "stares" from local cops now.

Argghh! one of my bulbs went out tonight, dammit! I'll have to switch the bulbs to see where the problem lies but I'm leaning toward the Silverstar solution as well. Anyone know how much a pair of new bulbs cost?

As plain as you can get. Standard halaogens look yellow compared to Silverstars.

So when exactly are the projectors/dual beams from Custom Maxima suppose to come out? I don't see anything on their website.

Not yet, I haven't got around to taking the system out of the car. As soon as I do that, I'll take pics, and up on Ebay they go.

I must have gotten the only set of bad silverstars. I do see that they are pretty darn white, but I just don't see all the improvement in brightness. I'm sorry I spent 50 bucks to upgrade from my CB's.

Now...when my friend with another 3rd gen parked next to me, we both had our headlights on, at night, shining on a solid wood fence. I can see that mine were much whiter than his stock, but again...not so much brighter.

any good 9004 kits?

I really like the output of my Hanabi HIDs. I think the beam pattern is fine with proper aiming--they are very safe yet very useable.

However, my confidence in the Hanabi's is waning. I, and a few others, had mismatched bulbs initially. Moreover my output when warmed up is almost completely white with the very slightest hint of blue but others reports a strong blue presence--this mind you with the same kit. Now one side is out intermittently. I now feel it is the starter module on the fritz. In summary, the quality control and reliability of the Hanabi Kit is somewhat suspect.

The only real way to see the difference in Silverstars and regular halogens is to look at them side by side. There is a difference.

Your housings do have glare and don't have a glare cutoff so your light do produce glare. Our housings don't have the glare cutoff like cars that are produced with HID's.
