ECU Code 0102 (MAF)

Last Saturday, as I was pulling out of the driveway, the car sputtered a little. I looked at my dash and sure enough the SES light came on. I pulled out the code and it turned out to be the MAF sensor. I reset the ECU and it hasn't come up since.

My question is: Is there something really wrong with the sensor or could it have just been a false alarm. I've heard that if the MAF sensor is realy f***ed up, the RPM's usually won't go past 2,500 or so. Should I stop worrying about it or should I start searching for another MAF?

TIA
