Whistling on Injen CAI

I got the Injen CAI installed in my car by an org friend of mine, and as i trust his knowledge and skill with cars (spark, spark, FIRE! ) completely, i have noticed that my injen whistles quite a bit. The only time the CAI will make a throaty sound is if i push the throttle hard enough to send it into another gear. If i push the throttle less than probably 50% it just whistles and it makes my car sound like a POS driving down the street. Is this the same with EVERY Injen, or is my filter just not on there tightly enough. My friend said he'd be happy to check it out for me, but i dont want to waste his time, so if it is normal just tell me and i'll learn to love the whistle. Thanks!

it sounds normal to me if

when you hit the gas(at first) it whistles because all that is is the air sucking into the filter then once you get up in the higher rpm ranges it will sound more throaty but it should whistle at first indicating the initial sucking in of air.

I know this is common among AEM Cold airs for a lot of different Honda cars. I was told the big shot at Injen use to work for AEM...so that might play a part.

same. wanna-be turbo sound, hah. It's really fun to listen to, especially at lower speeds. But when I heard this really old and beat up car coming and I hear the authentic "pshhh," the whistle can't comepare. It was an old Galant VR-4. Damn college students and their BOVs, hahah.

Yes, it makes the noise for me also. It is quite annoying actually. When I visited in-laws, my father-in-law asked me if my car was alright. He told me that it makes the same noise as a beat-up old car, albeit not as loud. I am thinking of selling mine since I don't seem to be able to learn to live with it

And I don't think the whistling noise comes from the filter. I believe the noise is due to the nature of the design. I think it has to many sections thus creating a tiny gaps between pipes. My friend has an AEM on his Accord and it makes no whistling noise at all. When I examined closely the noise came primarily from ehe throttle body to the pipe connection. I tried to tighten the clamps and also tried the butt the pipe against the throttle as tight as humanly possible. Nothing seems to help.

Whistling

I had that sound when I first installed my Injen. It was barely noticeable though. I re-tightened everything; that seemed to have done the trick.

I have the same whistling sound from my Frankencar intake too. The whistling seem to be there only from 2500 rpms and under. To me, the whistling is kind of annoying, doesn't sound cool to me. I thought there was something wrong, but judging from posts here, I know it's normal now. So I guess I just have to put up with it.
