sanding and prep q
ok, so im slowly sanding down my chipped and cracked paint, and i was wondering if i need to do nething to the panels i finish sanding to keep them nice till i get the car painted (prolly in a few weeks) should i wax the panels as i finish each one just to b safe? im just sanding away the cracks n stuff, sumtimes down to the primer, but mostly im just getting off the clear and a little more...thanx

Do not put any kind of wax on your car prior to paint!!! You want the area to be painted as raw as you can get it. Even the areas around it should be completely free of any sort of wax, grease, oil, or petrolium products. Fish eyes can form from contaminants like that, and thats a painters nightmare.
If anything, you should go over the areas with reducer (paint thinners) including the surounding areas to make sure it's completely free of any sort of wax or petrolium. The body shop is going to take that step just before paint anyhow, but to assure a clean surface, it doesn't hurt to get it cleaned up now. The cleaner the surface, the better the paint job.
