What comes to mind when I say my auto tranny shifts rough (2nd to 3rd) only when it is cold...

Sorry, I wrote it incorrectly.

The auto tranny only shifts smoothly when it is cold.

After the car is up to temperature, it shifts roughly from 2nd to 3rd.

I have to ASSume you have a 5th gen based on a search of your posts, so my best guess is the shift solenoid, etc. There's a TSB on this. Look in the 5th gen forum stickies for a transmission TSB that addresses this. Better yet, a 5th gen forum post will get you more/better responses.

Hopefully your vehicle is still under warranty.
