MEVI: To Install, or Not to Install

Ok, after reading the current threads on the DYNO comparisons for the MEVI and the USIM, I am very doubtful if the MEVI will do me any good. Right now, I have everything I need to install the sucker, but I don't want to waste my time and effort if it is not going to fully benefit me. I am currently NA, with a 100 shot Nitrous Dry Setup and slicks for the track. In the future, some months down the road, I plan on getting Harold's turbo kit when the funds permit. At this point in time, should I or should I not install the MEVI? And don't tell me to not install it and to sell it to you......

BTW, here are the referencing threads:

agreed. since you have NOS, your low end HP should not be as affected as a NA car. i didn't read the threads you referenced, but do they consider cars with a similar setup (ie boosted)?

you won't regret it. feeling the VQ pull hard until redline makes it worth every penny. also the whole car sounds much more "tuned" throughout the RPM range.

You'd be a fool not to install it. You get a much smoother performing engine with highway legs that rival many sportcars and sports sedans. Get a JWT ECU and the thing will fly.

Ok, I remain corrected, thanks guys. BTW, after posting this thread, I thought about it really hard. And since I already bought it, polished it, and have everything around, I might as well install it. Thanks again all....

I have it installed on a 4th gen auto. I will be introducing the NX kit with a window switch as soon as my installer is available. I know it has been dissected but I am of the opinion that with bosst or juice, the effect of this mod will only increase.

On my automagic, the pull to redline infirst happens extremely quick so I can only imagine what the five speed guys are experiencing.

The car accelerates smoothly and I have definitely made my car faster.

I think it's definitely worth it. The car doesn't feel any weaker at low rpms, and the only negative change is the pull I used to get between 4000-5000 rpm now is just very good instead of massive. It pulls much harder after 5000 rpms, has such a smoother, linear pull, and is quieter at higher rpms than with the USIM. It's definitely worth it.

My car scream through to 65 mph in 2nd gear. It used to putter out by 55. It pulls much better at higher rpms. I am constantly having to avoid hitting the rev limiter because the engine wants to just keep pulling.

Well hell, since you've already got it, and are planning on boosting, why not?

There are obviously PRO's and CON's to the MEVI. For boosted guys though, the CON's are minimized.

It has oft been said before but I shall repeat it: the MEVI is worth it for the extra highway power. The 5th-to-3rd gear downshift is AWESOME. The pull will leave your face beaming

Definitely install it!

Nah, I am just about done with the exterior for now, and the chrome door handles will complete my interior for now. Then, after I get the MEVI on, I will be putting money back into the turbo fund, which you can NICELY and surely contribute to. Just think, if you give me some mula for this, your name will go on my front windshiled as my sponsor. The banner will say, "My Nawz Ownz Carl".

Sure, email me. I only have few sets of 4th Gen Chrome Inner Handles/lock sets left. $65 shipped for 4th Gen, and $70 shipped for 5th Gen.

You can also use it as a tax write-off, so you get the best of both worlds. You get to watch me fly by you (as usual) and you get the tax write-off part........

seriously, are you going to dyno your USIM before you put on the MEVI? I would love to see some more data on USIM vs MEVI.
