where is the ignition switch located?

well my car is having electrical problems again and my mechanic thinks it may be the ignition switch instead of a short in the wiring.

how much do these run?

how hard is the install?

thanks!

Trevor

It's where you stick your ignition key in.

Man..that sucks if your ignition switch is busted. You would have to carry two keys now. One for the door/trunk. One just for the ignition key cylinder. What was the faulty part before when you overloaded the ignition circuit? I never replaced one before. You probably need to know how to solder the wires directly on the switch.

It may not be the lock cylinder. The switch is a separate part inside the column on the end of the lock cylinder, so he may be able to use the same key.

correct.

well, i got my car back today. they couldn't find a short in the wiring but they did see that some of the wires in my ignition switch were really loose so they fixed that. it cam down to 4 1/2 hours of labor but they took an hour off because i gave them some free pizza from papa john's (where i work ) so.....
3 1/2 hours labor+parts+towing fee+tax= $371.35

my nitrous kit is getting farther and farther away...
