I agree, some people think that a new car is faster. But no Maxima since 95-96 has been faster until the 2K2's stock.

The eclipse is another example that newer is not faster.

But I like that people will look at my 4th gen like it's a camry, I preffer to be a sleeper, and that's probably why I am not into super aggresivly dressed up cars.

I like to think that I'm my own worst critic. For example, my coworker went from a 1996 Camry to a 2003, both 4-cyl. When I rode in the 2003, I can clearly see that the way that car is built is far superior to my 98 Maxima, and it's probably better built than any Maxima or Altima. Nissan just doesn't seem to want to learn a new trick in initial build quality. That's fine, but they can't sell their cars for what Hondas or Toyotas fetch either. That's just the way it is. However, by the same token, Mazda and Mitsubishi owners need to realize that they are 3rd tier Japanese, which is below Nissan. With that said, I like to put any Mitsui or Mazda product in their place, on the road or otherwise!

Toyota is largest in Japan, and number 1 as well, and the 2 closes trailing companies arent anywhere near Toyota sales. The 2 trailing companies battle for 2nd place every year, thats how close it is, Honda and Nissan. Infiniti has great interior quality, and Infiniti is Nissan, thats not by accident.
