I believe the first run was against a new modded GT I was in the right lane, the second was an lt1 camaro I was in the right lane, and the third was against marcdown20 of the org

I just can't believe how much stronger your auto is over any other auto in the Org. Amazing.

If you say so.......
Once again read the post it states clearly it was a side wind/crosswind.
and that would be??????????
guessing is a ![GrinNo](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/grin_no.gif)
not sure what the approximate time your referring to is but if your comparing a 4th gen to my car its not a fair comparison b/c of the power and huge low end torque difference from the stock form.
and your point when you can do better all motor in an auto let me know...thank you.
this shows your true ignorance and that you know nothing about racing.
not even close I would break trying to spray off the line to get anywhere near those times. Dropping nearly 2 seconds from a 100 shot now thats impressive.
you sir have been watching to many movies.
so your basically calling me a liar and full of BS
but.......no need for name calling and such.
My thoughts exactly
Not saying it didn't happen, seems odd for boltons and no internal work.
![Confused](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
That means my car is a real P.O.S.
Was the 30mph gust WITH or against you?
Something just doesn't add up.
If the wind was at least head on at 20mph i'm guessing that would make .2-.3 second difference in your E.T. So correct the times for the wind and you 'could've' driven 13.49 all motor??????
![GrinNo](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/grin_no.gif)
That means a max that shoots a 75 to 100 shot of juice, yet still comes up with the approximate time, just really has that bad of a driver.
And your 60ft was over 2 seconds, come on.
Your car must be able to win a tug of war against a jet to make up that kind of time after the 60.
That also means you could be in the 11's, or damn close with 100 shot.
Please tell me what i'm understanding--was there a tear in the time/space continum (msp)? that sombody forgot to tell me about.
I'm sure you guys will start flaming me now and that's cool. Just remember present yourself as an adult even if you're not. No need for name calling and such.

Believe me, I'd like to say there's some magic Pixie Dust that Blu uses to make his Auto so fast but there's not. THere are a lot of people on the org that have known Blu personally, met him at meets, seen his car run numerous times. He may be an arrogant ***** sometimes
but he doesn't BS. I have a 2K2 Auto like Blu's, haven't run it 1/10th of the number of times he has (oh to be young with no responsibilities) but his car runs like a scalded dog. He is light himself and takes weight out where it makes sense (keeps the seats in). But has great reaction times (except when he redlights) and 60'.
You can doubt his sincerity all you want but Matt is a good driver and knows how to squeeze the performance out. He has smart performance mods (except that latest stock/no filter thing
).
He showed you the slips - they'll be vid's up. THere already is a video of his 13.99 run. What more do you need?
I'd love my car to run his times. I haven't taken it in a long time and think the best I'll get out of it with my current mods and Craptenzas is around a 14.4 . I'd love to call BS since I can't get close to those times, but I can't - I've seen the car and the driver.
Just accept and move on....

In case I didn't say it already, GREAT TIMES!! ![Big Grin](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
There may be some non-believers, but I've run this in CarTest2000 and it checks out. Adding 20 whp/wtq to the car for mods, and accounting for the massively smaller wheel/tire combo weight that the 15" slicks would likely give you, I get about 14.2 @ 99 with a 2.27s 60' time. Going by the 0.2s off of your ET for every tenth you can knock off of your 60' time rule, that puts blu at about 13.8 with a 2.0x 60' time, which is about what he was running.
So no BS flags here

I don't doubt Matt's times either. He's running in the winter, on slicks, and at a great track. He fully admits to all this and he's keeping nothing secret. I'm one of the most pessimistic guys on the Org and I've got plenty of track experience and you don't see me calling BS. Granted Matt's auto 3.5 VQ is significantly stronger than all the others that have run so far, the numbers check out. Matt's auto is one of the more modified ones in this Org plus he's running short slicks. Like I've said 1.5 years ago, the 1/4 mile performance gap between the auto and manual Maxima pretty much became equal when the 3.5 VQ debuted. If the current 5th gen had a 5 speed auto, the performance would be flat equal.
A 13.8@99mph with a 2.0 60' looks good to me. At every point along the track, there are no surprises. His advantage is gearing and torque (both go hand in hand). On stock sized wheels, the auto is a bit undergeared. With the super lightweight 15" slicks combo, not only does his Max gain traction, he gains a massive amount of torque multiplication through deeper gearing. On stock sized wheels and tires, I doubt he could pull off any better than a 14.2-14.3@97mph which puts him well within the range of a lot of 4th/5th gen Maximas.
Keep in mind that this track is one of the quicker ones in the country. Other members have run on this track and posted some pretty impressive times also. This is also the same track where two 2000 Toyota Celica GTS' with just intakes and removed mufflers pulled off 14.2s@99mph with 2.2 60 foots. It's a quick track.
As for the cross/head wind, I've never seen proof that it's going to slow you down much in a 13+ second car. I've run with 20mph tail/cross/head winds and my times/mphs are too close to make any judgement to whether the wind was a factor.

Winds will definitely hurt you or help you, just a question of how much. With normal winds, the effect on your car is probably within your run-to-run variability, so as Dave stated, probably not enough to notice a real difference.
