TurtleMax breaks down AGAIN...yay

was going over to a friends house yesterday and the car started wiggin out. Basically give it gas and it doesnt go, i THINK its the MAF, juss cause it went out before and same prob, plus on my AFC, the AFL % wouldnt go higher then 10 or so....i dunno.

so my question is, has anyone gone Aftermarket before for a MAF?

If anything, maybe a 3-gen maf will work. Should be cheaper to buy used etc.

What about the maf from a 300z if your looking for a bigger one? They are only about $75 bucks at a junk yard. The j30 or whatever that infinity was uses the same maf as well. I wonder if you could use it with out an ecu reprogram if you also use the 300z injectors? Maybe you wouldnt have to lower the base fuel so low. I'll probably give it a try later this spring if no one has by then.

if you exced the maxium airflow of the maxima MAF then a larger MAF would be benefical. im gonna try a junkyard tomorrow for the MAF, my cost from Nissan is $367 for a new MAF....ugh

ive done some research on the aftermarket MAF. Some companies do make upgraded ones for domestics although thier price is about 300-350 also. So...meaning id hafta have ALOT of people buy them to get the price down lower. Oh but I forgot, they would hafta engineer one...soo....price would probably be more. Who would buy a MAF that costs more than nissans? honestly now..

I am going to try a Mustang Cobra '93 MAF when I get home ... if my buddy can get one for me cheap! I'll probably try the big TB too not sure if it will all work though! It should work OK, just need to retune S-AFC.

Instead of forcing the maf to see boosted air, install the maf before the turbo compressor and only let it see unboosted air.

That of course would entail alot of pipe changes though.
