I'm gonna find out if they'll fit in the Max.. if not, I'll sell 'em to another Z owner that needs some good condition seats.

For the price I paid for them, I should be able to sell them to someone for the same price I paid after shipping. (obviously I got a pretty good deal on em)

the fun part is I still have to figure out whether or not they'll fit in the max. I've got a welder at home, so I can fabricate mounting brackets if I have to, but what I'm concerned about is the height. the butt of the seat isn't very high off the floor, so I'm afraid I won't be able to see over the dashboard without some serious modifications.
We'll see!

matt my friend!! tell me how those seats got to you. heh. I need a box that size to ship seats... what size is the box and who made it, does it say?

I have my cloth seats that i'm dying to get rid of but i have no way of shipping them (ups and fedex both have restrictions on box size).

UPS and Fed Ex will both ship them, as they came to me by fed ex, and I work at ups and load boxes larger than those every day..

To be honest, I haven't even seen the seats yet. I had them delivered to my GF's house because I knew someone would be home when they were delivered. not a good idea to leave leather seats sitting in the cold and rain.

the guy I bought the seats from said the boxes were the same ones that his Recaro seats came in.

Basically the only limit UPS has is that it must be under 140lb. (I've actually seen a few up to 150lb, but never over that.)
Also, some of the boxes I've loaded there are more than large enough to hold both seats in one box. They just go on a special irregular/oversize/heavyweight trailer.

I believe FedEx's weight limit is 150lb, but even then, these seats are well under that limit.

hmmm, interesting about the box because when I went to ups here to inquire about it they told me they had a size limit on the box... it had to be under a certain weight like you said (which was no problem) but also the length + width + height of the box couldn't be more than say x inches, something like that. I don't know, with the numbers they gave me I measured the seats and figured out I'd need a box that was pretty much an exact size (hard to come by).

Maybe I should go back and ask again?

Also, do you know where I might be able to find boxes of that size?

If the seats don't work out, I'm interested in them for my Z. I've been looking for a drivers power seat, mines manual.

CKNY, Yes there are size limits, but as I said, I've loaded stuff MUCH bigger than what it'd take to box up a seat. many of them take 2 people to load into the truck.
but I KNOW FedEx will take them because that's how I got mine.

rodelb, I'll keep you in mind if these don't work out. they driver's side needs recovered, but I was going to worry about that AFTER I found out if they'll fit or not. no point in spending $$ to recover a seat if I can't use it!
