Here's three for the Maxima tonight...

Going on the 60East heading towards Pomona tonight in Southern California, a newer Prelude H22A starts driving next to me and tailgating me. I ignore it, thinking I should save some gas since its skyrocketing for not only me, but I'm sure for everyone.

Anyway, I see him do some stupid stuff, weaving around through traffic, in an attempt to get my attention I guess. Then comes a straight away with virtually no cars ( cars are in the back and in the front) so I deceide to gun it... Well you predicted it, pulled away - guess he was stock.. it wasn't worth the gas.

In the process, a S14 type 240SX tries to catch up and does. He has a HUGE muffler on with fake dual exhausts and that Silvia emblem replacing his 240SX emblem. At this point, the Prelude had arrived at his exit and the 240 drives up to me.

We both rev, honk 3 times, and go... Let's just say he didn't have that SR20DET in it.


Finally, I had reached my exit and was on my way home. Surprise! An S2000 pulls out of a plaza and catches up to me. He keeps turning his head and looking at me, with that, I knew he wanted to play. My street came up, but I said "oh well".... So we line up at redlight. I rev to 3000 and feather the clutch, shifting at redline, 6300, and ending at about 6000.. Before I had those horrible stock goodyear tires. This was the first time I had a real chance to launch with my Sumitomo HTR+. WOW! A huge difference in traction.

As far as the S2000, I had my windows down, and he revved to a tune to about 3000 rpm. I knew at that point, since he didn't rev to 6000, when his VTEC kicks in, that he was going to be surprised.

Off the line, I pulled a car. Proceeding through the gears, and ended in third I had 3/4 a car on him. The expression of his face on my rear view mirror was priceless. I'm 100% sure that if he had driven and launched the car 'correctly', it would've been me in his rear view.

Now it was over, he pulls up and asks if I'm 5speed, I gave him the affirmative. He says "NONNO- one more." I gave him the thumbs up and made a U-Turn to head home.

how did u know the s2k was supercharged? comptech supercharged s2k's run real low 13's...even with a bad launch i would think he'd gain more than a 1/4 car length on u by the end of 3rd. a stock s2k could be diff story tho.

I'm sorry... I was mistaken. I had thought S2000 come with chargers stock. What I meant to say is a STOCK S2000 -- now I know its n/a.

Once Bags get his "supermod" done, you won't be able to do that. Should be much closer.
