Bumper repair quality question
Bumper repair quality question
Had some rear end bumper damage repaired.
Not my first time either. Both times i've had problems with the quality of the repair job.
My question is am I too picky? Here's the situation.
I have a silvermist 2000 Maxima SE in pretty good condition.
Bumper repair came back with a noticeable raised rough paint line in the indented portion of the bumper, hard to describe, like overspray but it's in a raised rough line instead of a drip. Body shop tried to rub it out, still there, about a millimeter or so in height, runs across the bumper intermittently for about 2 feet.
Also a there is paint missing from part a small part on top of the rt side of the bumper, near the tailight, about a 3/4 inch hairline. I felt I could live with this.
There are various small chips of paint missing from above the taillight, on the edge of the tailight housing area, about the size of a pencil lead tip. Instead of fixing that, they just used touch up paint. This was not noted on the initial repair quote either. I suspect this was not a result of the current accident, but as a result of the work done by the Body shop that fixed my first rear ender.
I want all this fixed so it's like new.
Is this too much for me to expect?

Our shop would never let a car leave with the quality of work you have described. Take it back, point it all out and have them refinish it again, correctly. Ask for a copy of their warranty statement as well. Our work is guaranteed for as long as you own your car.
