It would be nice it you could take the 6spd tranny and pop it into the 2000. It sould work unless the bolt pattern is different and the other things are different.

an older auto? or manual.

5th gen tranny has stronger internals to support the extra power. are you doing a 5spd swap??

That's exactly what DaveB in TX told me. He confirmed an 00/01 would drop into a 4th gen.

To answer the LSD question take a look at a 2001 AE edition.

can anyone w/ any credibility tell me if this is for real? cause my tranny is gone now and i'm lookin for a new one...

btw... is there any advantage in goin this route, are they really stronger? i mean our tranny has taken over 400 hp so why would they strengthen the 5th gen's for a measly 32 hp? could the gear ratio's be different?

thanks in advance

mike

I want a five speed but it is hard to find 00-01 front clips. I wanted to know if a 4th gen manual would work at all. A six speed will not work because of sensor which would have to be adapted.

2001-2001 gear ratios are the same as 4th gen. And 2 and 5th gears are stronger, thats what my info says.
