Driving on a bad CV joint?
After a couple hard run on boost...
Ive got a crazy knocking coming from my something between my transmission and left wheel, I assume it is my CV joint, so i was going to replace my whole axle assy. I dont think it is a wheel bearing. Thing is I dont have time to do it this weekend, Im wondering if it is going to ruin anything else on my car, driving it for a week like that (especially the tranny bearing prone to failure).

It is not recommended, but you can drive on it. The only thing that may happen is the actual bearings inside the axle boot will completely fail. When this happens, the axle will spin freely and the transmission will think that side is loosing power, so it will shift all power to that wheel, hence the non-limited slip concept. I had this happen on a friends Sentra RIGHT after we had lowered it.
