I have a 96 GXE 5 speed and my buddy put in the Viper 550HF alarm with remote start. Unfortunatelly he didn't connect it right, whenever I remote start my car, everything is fine, except the accessories don't turn on (heat, AC). They turn on as soon as I put the key in. Is anyone familiar with that setup, which wire is missing?

Does the radio turn on? If that is the case, he reversed the Ignition and the Accessory wires. You want the ignition wires to be connected and not the accessory wires (so the radio and cig plug wont be operating under remote start mode).

yup.. as he said.
check to make sure it's hooked up at all. if you don't have the +12v output to the ignition wire for the heater, then it won't come on.. on my GF's altima, there were seperate wire connections for the engine ignition and the heater/accessories ignition. I would assume they're similar, since hers was a '97 and the wiring scheme on her car and my '93 Max are almost identical.

make sure you check

that both of you ignition wires are connected. We have double ignition wires. yup that's two and make sure you didn't switch the connection with the accessory wire. To locate it, you'll have to remove the lower steering panels to get access to the ignition switch. That is were your friend most likely had connected it to. And to add another accesory outputwire from your alarm, you might have to wire up another relay. If you got the newer alarms ,it should had come with a prewired second ignition output.

I was looking to add a Clifford Avant Gaurd 4 to my 99 Max, but the shop will not put a remote start in a 5spd for insurance reasons. How hard is it to wire only the remote start portion of the alarm.
Thanks.
