Hey my friend was driving and his car while driving just died, we pulled over and checked the battery and everything and it wouldn't start, what do u think the problem is...the motor chocks when trying to start but it wont turn over, is it the distributor, starter, what?

please help

 

A car won't start if one or more cylinders has severely lost compression. The fact that his car just died makes it most likely not a starter related problem (perhaps the altrernator). Our cars don't have distributors. It could be a coil pack, but even with one bad pack you should be able to get the car rolling. Pull out the spark plugs and check to see their condition.
