I was on the hwy going about 100 on the way back to work after an..uhhh...extended lunch hour and cam behind a red GTP (the old style). She obviously slowed down on purpose and I had to exit the hwy and wound up behind her again on the exit ramp. Light turned green and she spun her tires and was off. I accelereated as fast as I could w/o spinning 1st gear into white smoke (which we all know is really easy w/ stock tirtes) and she beat me by a good 3 cars lengths to 40 mph and then I caught up to her. I then boxed her in behind some traffic..what's good for the goose ... yadda...yadda...

Anhow, are these cars that quick or do I just suck at shifting? Or both?

I lost to a fried of mines GTP by at least two cars and he was spinning hard off the line. Yeh, you don't want to mess with them. I leaned my lesson...at least until I get a SC!~

It's interesting to hear your stories. I've raced my friend's GTP two or three times. I won 2 out of the 3. I also raced another GTP at a later date and won 2 out of 3. GTPs are all auto's, so I think that gives a 5spd. a fair advantage. They are quick though.

I think I would beat it on the hwy w/ no problem. In the cold, my Dunlops do NOT stick well (it was 15 degrees). By mid 2nd gear I was catching up b/c there was a curve in the road and WOT in 1st would just make me spin... I'm sure I'll see this car again and have some fun!

I usually race light to light, so I don't have much experience with Hwy. Going fast is fun, but high speed tickets are worse than a street racing ticket to me
