Apparantly mobile 1 is good for atleast 7000-7500 miles. If you look at the important number, the viscosity, it's still in good shape.

What I'd like to know is if anyone's got reports on this Mobile 1 5W-30 in clean form? I think Jeff or Keven has a link to that big oil test page?

thanks,

Here's a link ->

to the oil FAQ:
http://www.micapeak.com/info/oiled.html

I'm assuming your flashpoint temp was actually 390something, not 39, right?! Even so, that seems much lower than the 445 degF listed for M1 5W30 in the oil FAQ.

The oil FAQ doesn't list viscosity, but the Mobil site does:
http://dallnd6.dal.mobil.com/GIS/Mob...7?OpenDocument

Your Sample:
59.9 Sus Viscosity @ 100 degF (I imagine this is in units of cSt, correct?)

Listed value from Mobil site:
53.3 cSt @ 40 degC (104 degF) (Lower than your sample but the temp is higher...still, yours looks to be a little more viscous)

Keep in mind that unless you're comparing results from the same sampling methods (ASTM #...), you can't really compare the results. You'd need to find out the method from your oil analysis lab and see if they match Mobil's.

yes...

it's supposed to be 390.

I made the change on the page to reflect that.
I will email blackstone labs right now to see what the method used use.
