need help with EGR system

well ever since my car threw the code for the EGR temp sensor it has run like complete SHlT. i have a huge loss of power and the car just sounds unhealthy.

a mechanic told me that the egr valve may be stuck open for some reason causing it to dump exhaust constantly instead of just at idle speeds. this would explain a lot.

he said that i could try unhooking the harness (if there is one) for the egr valve and seeing if it would just completely shut it then i'd know that that was what was wrong.

can anyone put up pics or tell me where the harness or actual valve are located?

my chilton's only shows pics of the one on a VG

If the EGR valve was stuck open your car would have a really tough time idling. You'd probably also have a code for the valve itself. (0515)

You can measure it with an Ohm meter. Should have very high resistance, like 10 Meg Ohms. There's really no sure test for that sensor.
