Saw this on news regarding HID lights

http://www.thewbalchannel.com/money/2272998/detail.html For you with the 02-03's watch out, your headlights have zero protection. And guess what, if you want nissan to pay for a retro fit, good luck!

No problems here in Charlotte either. I was in NYC last Saturday so the headlight issue was on my mind thanks to Cutlr7.

Don't knock it. I'm from Brooklyn (cityboy) and when I used to go out there (cowboy and oil country), I was known as the "manwhore".

The women are lovely out there.

"When I called the police, to report it stolen, she said, 'Your car was stolen?' and I said, 'Just the lights,'" Sylvia Broughton said. "[And she asked], 'What do you have, a Maxima?'"
hehe...

I feel bad for the rampant theft that's going on up there. Personally I don't think I could spend $20k+ish on a car and NOT park it in a garage overnight, although I understand that's not an available option for all

That's why I always keep my car filthy, nobody ever wants to touch it long enough to steal anything.

the $75 kit seems like bargain compared to someone "half-inching" your headlights...

I'd like to see what's int hat kit. Prolly just a friggin' bolt you can buy from a hardware store for 50c.

You guys, if interested in this, should search the 5th Gen forum on this topic. It's been discussed MANY MANY times.

On top of that, the anti-theft kit from Courtesy has been established as pretty much worthless, and in some cases, could even make things worse.

if nissan can install a lock for $75, and guarantee that it will NOT be stolen, i say go for it. If it does get stolen, they are liable as long as you can prove you followed the required steps to secure them.
