2 Weird and maybe stupid questions...

The other day I was thinking, has anyone ever dyno'ed a car with the a/c on and than off to see exactly how much power is lost?

Also, is there a specific way to adjust your rearview mirror, like a good standard way, like lining up in the middle or with the back pillars?I usually have mine right in the middle?Do you guys set it to your liking or is there a standard rule maybe driving schools teach?

I think we could use this thread so people could post other stupid questions, they might be stupid, but other people probably think of them too, just a thought.

yep, you were right

just funnin' with ya'... I aim my inside rearview a little behind my head, so I can just about barely *not* see the driver's side rear column. I find when I change lanes going to the left there's a blind spot there and having the mirror that way helps a little. But when changing lanes to the right I look over my right shoulder so the mirror wouldn't really help that way.

a/c... from a random webpage on the topic... "in city driving, the (a/c) system can increase fuel consumption by as much as 20%."

I believe the A/C compressor turns off at WOT so technically there shouldn't be any difference on the dyno. Anyone wanna verify this?

This is correct. The compressor clutch will release when your at or about WOT. Most cars act this way to give you maximum power when you call for it.
