i regret my moddin order...

it's 5:30 am and i'm very sleepy, so here i am to rant about somethin i regret durin my 1 year of moddin career:

i started with clear corners, then intake, gauges, sway bar, dash borads, altezza, y-pipe, rice lights here and there, and so on...

basically i shouldn't mod 1/3 of performance, 1/3 suspension, 1/3 show... my car is not dropped and still runnin stock 15s, exhaust doesn't have highflow cat and b-pipe. i regret i didn't focus on moddin 1 area.

i think spreading mods out evenly is key to having a nice car. while some have their specific preference to a certain category, as you can see by my sig, i like having some (or a lot) of everything.

Re-use it by doing a custom cat-back at an exhaust shop (if you like the muffler that is..). It'll be lot cheaper than buying a full cat-back...

u should work on suspension first. You have hella hookups here, ie. Turtle Shop. He could take care of all the work u'd be afraid to take to a shop.

Do things in your own time and in your own way. I still run on 15's and hubcaps but so what? My car still drives.

Everything I've done to my 5speed max was all worth every penny. Here's the order from about 1 year ago:
clear corners, intake, 17s, red/clear tails, fstb, rsb, ypipe, Pioneer headunit. I have sprints/agx waiting to be installed by my brother.

The only thing I regret doing is shaving the rear completely. It looks so ghetto. I should've just shaved nissan and left MAXIMA.

I'm just startin out and have just done tint, fstb, and clears in that order. I can't decide what to do next though. I'm debating between an intake or rsb. If I go rsb I know my car will handle so much better combined with the fstb and then i could focus on performance later but on the other hand I want to able to know I have a little more performance then a stock max and also have the sound of the intake. That way my car handles and performs better than a stock max

I think a good order is this:

- Handling & Suspension
- Engine/Exhuast
- Looks

just get what that little voice in your head tells you to get.. one day is a dash kit, the other day is springs.. next day is a RSB.. one morning you wake up and go straight to the tints shop.. ahhh.. so much fun.

If I waited to get one area totally done, I probably would've stopped modding a long time ago because 1)I would've spent a lot of $$$ and not been able to really see a total benefit. If I dropped it, got new springs, subframe connector, rsb, etc but had my stock steelies on the yellow corner lights, and no performance, I wouldn't really appreciate the full effect. I like getting a little in each area until you get it like you want it (which really never happens)
