how infinite are the ratios? i know its a fluid motion, like constantly changing... but could the ratio go on forever? if so, do u need a lot of HP with a endless magical gear ratio? (i just wanted to say endless magical gear ratio)

i think there is a preset starting and ending gear ratio so it does end. and yes you stay at redline while the speedo keeps goign

if it has infinite ratios...why would it go up to redline when ur accelerating? wouldnt that be kinda crappy for gas mileage and engine wear? Ive been in a murano with one, and watched it hold redline like that...but since the ratios have no definition, why not keep it at mid RPM range... use a lot of torque and less gas?

once again... why redline? wouldnt u benefit from some torque, if the ratio is changing the engine RPM can stay in the sweet spot... redlining all the time sounds like over kill

i don't know but it might, correct me if i am wrong but hte murano stays at 6200,6000 when u floor it which is the peak hp... why is it not at a "sweet spot" i don't know

well thats the thing, off the line u punch the gas...why doesnt it hold the peak torque ratio? u get less torque when it goes straight up to redline... and it also would use more gas ALL the time.
