BBK installed!

Big brakes

Updated page showing the first of many more of my Stainless Steel brake corp. big brake kit....

Pics to come tomorrow with rim installed. The brakes fill up the front wheel well very nicely! I racked up about 70 miles yesterday trying to break things in as easily as possible. The kit came with stainless lines as well. I think I need another bleed or two and things will be settled in fine. By the weekend I'll be hammering into them fairly hard and we'll see how they stand up! One thing is for sure, the greenstuff pads (like any good aftermarket one I suppose) dusts more than the OEM ones did up front. Not sure if that's completely normal or a function of increased brake bias towards the front, etc.

If I have any gripes (minimal) then they would be the instructions. They seemed to refer to a 'standard' kit that didn't reflect all the nuances of the components in this kit but I had the top mechanic in Louisville working on my **** so no probs! Other than that, the install went without a hitch....I did forget the before weight in to accurately quantify the delta in unsprung weight though...I guess I can measure the OEM stuff and then get estimates from SSBC for their kit. By the way, its the 12.2" version...no chance the 13" version would fit under my 18s....there is roughly a quarter inch gap between the caliper and inner spoke as is. Anyway, sorry so long...more pics to come tomorrow!

you need to lower your car first and make it look right with them 18's before you worry about stopping faster!

some Tein's with AGX's would make her look sexy!

Nope... I've been on Eibach's and Tokicos (front) and AGX (rear) for over a year now....wait til the pics with the tire on to make the gap assessment my friends...

Cost was ~700 for the front kit...2 piston caliper rather than the 4 of some of the other kits out there but still a large improvement in potential over stock.

I'm not sure about other people but I didn't make my custom BBK to look pretty. My rusty stock calipers and rusted 13" rotors look pretty ugly too. But I'll outstop 99.9999999% of the cars in existence.

Although I disagree, I do appreciate your honest opinion...and it doesn't matter much to me as long as they brake better!
