will this "old-school" a'pexi s-afc works on our maxima?
JDM style? but it serve its function by simply adjusting the dial and change the air/fuel ratio. although no fancy functions like throttle position, digital tachometer, air/fuel ratio display... but it can be backed up by an autometer air/fuel gauge.
u guys think i'll work for maxima?

if so, why not pick it up now?
i'll own s-afc as a little toy before and get friendly with it for awhile then go forced induction.but yea still doin research and price on s-afc... thx for the reply.

The SAFC won't help your gas mileage because you have to be above 40% throttle for it to kick in. Anything below 40% throttle will be adjusted to the stoiciometric ratio 14.7:1 since the engine is in closed loop.

You may be able to hook it up and get it operating, but it won't work correctly on the Maxima...the old school APEXi AFC's only have a blanket adjustment for preset rpms. Not only do you lose the ability to modify for a greater number and variable rpms (not really that big of a detriment), but you lose the ability to adjust for low and high rpms. Because of the self-learning ability of the Maxima ECU, any change you make to any specific rpm will eventually be dialed out due to the ECU compensating. If you make the fuel trim leaner at 5000 rpm, for example, the ECU will see the leaner mixture via the O2 sensors, and automatically adjust the fuel trim to dial the fuel mixture such that the O2 readings come back inline.
It's a waste of money on a Maxima.
