Mad Max featured in Modified Magazine

How do you get you car featured in a National Magazine?

Just have to be an old guy with a car faster than a Honda. Also need a Son with connections, and show up at the track a lot.

I did manage to get Maxima.org mentioned in the article but of course with editing etc it didn't come out exactly like I had planned it.

It will be in the Oct Issue of Modified Magazine around mid Sep.

I didn't but they put it in the mag anyway because it was coming and they wanted to know what I was doing in the future.

There was more stuff in there about the org but it didn't make the print.

I put the 95 engine and tranny in the 97 and the wife is still driving it, compression is a bit down at 150 but still works great.

Im fairly new and didnt know you were running 12's. Thats crazy!

So are the mods a secret, or can you tell us what kind of "lighter" parts you used?

Did you just have the original heads ported for larger vavles?
Did you reuse the stock profile cam?

Congrats!

There is something I am missing here. All my mods are listed in that article and I just removed what I deemed unecessary items to reduce weight.

The article states the engine is stock (which it is) the only mods are the intake and exhaust.

All the other gobblegook about the engine is just Modified's research on the diff between a 3rd and 4th Gen engine. My engine has not been touched.

AFAIK, Jime has no internal engine work done (i.e. no ported heads or swapped cams)

from what i saw in person and heard from Jime, his weight reduction mods are simple but effective

Doh! I read it to say that you redesigned the engine when in fact it was Nissan who did, lol.

Well its good to know that it doesnt take too much to get some great performance out of these cars.

Actually they were correct. My 97 Canadian SE had factory VLSD which is now in the 95 GXE. It does help the 60' times.
