Hi all,
I'm looking into getting a set of used rims, and all I know is that 1 is "damaged". AFAIK, that either means out of round, cracked, or both.
Does anyone know how much can I expect to pay to repair these types of damage?
Also, does anyone know of a shop in Philly that could do that kind of work?
If these, or any, rims have curb rash, etc, is it worth painting them again, or leave it be? I see people (via search) saying to powdercoat them, but I'm guessing that's for dark colors? I'm also toying wih the thought of chrome dipping them, but that's unlikely because of the cost and frailty. But out of curiosity, does anyone know how much it would cost to do it?
any help appreciated

wheel repair can be expensive.
a wheel may be unrepairable upon inspection and you may have to buy a new one, considering damage. powdercoating rims?!? never heard of that, but i guess its the same principle as dipping (chrome, paint...etc) and can be expensive to do all four rims, plus, dipping doesn't last very long and start to chip after a while. are you getting a good deal on these rims? do they come with tires? how big are they? these are things you have to ask yourself, and decide if it is worth it. good luck!

I got my wheels painted for $85 per wheel, with the expensive white pearl paint. Regular (non-pearl) paint is $65 per wheel. See if you can get it for that or less. If the wheel is cracked, they won't be able to repair it, but they can fix bends.
