Whats a Pyrometer?

Is it the same thing as an EGT guage? I've seen it on a few maximas......

does it measure the same way? like, degrees wise?

And, it's just a preference of who's buying it right? Whether to choose EGT or pyrometer? Is one better than th other?

They are literally the same thing.

Pyro-Meter and Exhaust Gas Temperature (meter). Measure of the temperature of the combustion.

Nah ah..... I asked him and he didnt know wtf I was talkin about...he's got EGT.

Wasnt 100% sure what the pyrometer was.

Its just a word that AUTOMETER uses, they gotta be different so they use that word instead of the general term of EGT.

It is the proper name for the instrument.

Calling a Pyrometer an EGT is like calling a Barometer an "Air Pressure Guage"

Means the same thing.
