nissan has the highest output NA V6?

Domestic iron still does and always will rule the dragstrips because of what they have off the line (massive torque), and what they have through the lower two-thirds of the rev range (more torque).

In the mean time, here is the link to the stock 04 Max 5-speed auto run.
14.64 @ 94.56

Neal-
You've never seen an auto CL/TL-S hit 14s before? I've watched a bonestock auto CL-S running 14.9@94mph with 2.3 60' at my track. With headers, I've heard from some other racers that he's doing higher 14.5s and 14.6s now. On a sea level track that's a 14.4 second auto with just headers for the only mod.

Dave, has RussMaxManiac hijacked your computer? I swear that's him talking.

Actually, the TL-S engine made its max torque from 3500-5500 rpm and it has one of the flattest torque curves you will see on a dyno......
By 4800 rpm to 7000 RPM's, VTEC kicks in and the engine roars....so its a very inteligently designed engine. The 5-speed auto will also leave you in VTEC range through the first three gears, which takes you to about 110 mph.
Also, the new TL is basically the Type S engine with a bit higher compression, so I dont see the engines being much different.
Some of you guys need to drive a TL-S or the new TL and then talk.....

I don't doubt that the TL-S is a great motor, it's just that the relatively small displacement engine is pushing a somewhat heavyish body, and that takes away some of it's excitement. Nissan learned that lesson with the 2000 Maxima. The VQ30DE-K is their best 3.0 engine, but they needed 3.5 liters to push the bigger body around and still have the low down torquey feeling.
I am quite familiar with this kind of feeling. My last car was a Supra MKIII turbo with no mods. It had 240 hp and 260 lb-ft of TQ, but it's 3600 curb weight really made that motor work hard.

did someone say NA V6
the racing VQ30 http://forums.maxima.org/showpost.ph...2&postcount=27
MmM 415 hp n/a
but in production cars, the 350z is "suppose" to get more hp soon. i have read that nismo got 400hp out the 3.5L vq NA. i don't know if it will be real hp or not ```cough - 02-03max -cough

My point was that the power to weight ratio just hurt the power numbers. Because my car was a turbo, the TQ curve must have been even fatter than an NA car.Still, the MKIII Supra trubo was the slowest of all the Japanese supercars, like the 300ZX, RX-7, etc. It's weight killed it.

Do yourself a favor and search here for "Acura OR CL-S OR TL-S" in thread titles and look at how many zillion multipage locked threads there are. Back when "the plague" infected our forums there was a big Acura-Nissan rivalry but it's died down a lot now that "the plague" has moved on. So anybody that has been here for more than a year or so will be well aware of what the Acuras can do. I expect it to heat up a bit now that the new 04 TL is out to compete with the 04 Maxima.
Hopefully we'll be able to keep it peaceful and intelligent on round 2.
