Why does my rewired clearance light keep burning out?

My rewired clearance light keeps on burning out. I have been through 2 sets of aftermarket lights, and ive rewired them so that there are bright all the time to match my HID's.
Is this happening to anyone else? Is there anything i can do that can stop them from burning out???

1. stop buying the cheap bulbs...(90% of the colored bulbs)
2. when you run a bulb that hot 24/7 it will shorten it's life.

i clipped the nub instead of rewiring and there haven't been any probs on this end.
are you using a higher wattage bulb than stock? if so, careful you don't burn out your harness.

I rewired mine two years ago and have been using the same cheapo (EuroLite) colored bulbs since. No problems. If your wiring is loose and shorting often, you might be blowing your bulbs more frequently. Does it occur on one side more than another?

Do you have an aftermarket stereo system? Sounds to me like your electrical system is not stable.. If you are having power surges or drops in voltage, then you will blow bulbs often. Check the leads to your battery and make sure they are clean.. If you have a stereo, considering getting better grounding wires like the new Hyperground kits that are around. All else fails, get a multimeter and watch the power fluctuations.. Most people experience this problem with cheapo colored headlight and foglight bulbs because they are much higher wattage, and thus draw a lot of current, and therefore are more impacted by power irregularities. You might also want to clean the socket itself.

yeah procarparts is cool and gave me an extra set for free, but just for now, im using the lower wattage on the bulbs.
Im also experiencing another problem...my blinkers sometimes dont work. Like randomly, this JUST started happening. But now they are currently working, like they it would sometimes work and then sometimes it wouldnt. Yes i do have an aftermarket system. Each of these bulbs last me around like 3-5 months with the higher wattage. Maybe they just blow cuz there on most of the time???
