Well I got bord and went to www.car-part.com (the best place to find parts) and i searched for a complete engine assembly for the VQ30....it returned 81 freakin pages!!!!!!!!!
Then I checked for 5.0 V8's (Ford)....only 11 pages of results....
And then I searched for the ever so common 3.8 GM engine...and about the same results for the VQ, yet the L36? (3.8) is found in soooo many different cars...
Why there so many VQ30's in the yards?? Heck I better stock up on a few just incase lol.

Yeah the Ford guys are always doing crazy stuff, blowing up, and rebuilding. Much bigger aftermarket and enthusiast world for them too.
Who mods, blows up, and rebuilds VQ engines?

I think that's exactly what he's asking. My answer would be because the 5.0 and 3.8 come a dime a dozen and most boneyards on car-parts.com wouldn't bother putting them in their data base because you can probably head down to your local yard pick out a couple that's already there. Now the VQ on the other hand you probably can't head down to your local boneyard and pick out a few so the boneyards on car-parts.com knows this and list the VQ hoping to catch a sale. chances are atleast 1 person in your neighborhood has a spare 5.0, or parts to build one in their garage. Plus they are dirt cheap.
