I got a $50 bet going for my '95 SE 5spd vs. 2000 auto V6 Stang

Guys, Im putting up my '95 SE 5spd against a 2000 V6 mustang automatic. Do you think I can take it? Anyone raced one before? We are going from 0-100mph with each have one person in our car. No one at school thinks I have a shot. What do you think?

The new Mustang V6s sport about the same numbers as we do. 190hp 215 torque. Both cars weigh almost the same, but the rwd gives the mustang a nice launch. If its an auto I'd say you'll beat it, but realistically a 5spd v6 would give you a good run. I have 2 friends w/ Mustangs.

Mustangs have ****ty gearing, and even with a v6 w/ 5spd, you will still toast him. Those engines are just not 'fast' engines, same with the 3800V6's of the Ponitac Grand Prix. They have similar 'numbers', however the power coming out isn't the same (torque curve is different, power comes at different rpms), along with the poor gearing, and more power loss from the flywheel to the wheels, they can't compete. On top of that, they weigh ~3400lbs, compared to your ~3000lbs...

No contest! I raced my friend who has a V6 auto camero and he is a much better drag racer than me. I beat him twice in a row with my AUTOMATIC with only a CAI. He even tried manually shifting, didn't work.
Your 5spd will eat that guy alive!

Can i borrow 50 bucks
Since you will be 50 dollars richer in a couple days can i borrow 50. Seriously, you will demolish this guy, the autos are so slow on the mustangs, and it's the v6. Even if it was a 5-spd, i think my Auto could take it or give it a very close race, prolly beat it though, you won't even break a sweat.

Seriously, you're going to beat him so badly he'll buy Japanese for the rest of his life
. Ok, maybe he won't, but you're still going to win no problem. My '99 Maxima SE 5 speed can easily beat my brother's 2000 Sentra SE 5 spd, which easily beat a 2000 V6 Mustang (Not sure if it was stick, but I don't think it matters). Hope that little "food chain" excercise made things clear, hehe.
