Willing to be the test mouse! Stock PP & ACT disc or ACT PP & stock Disc? which one?

Some of you guys I seen complain and suggest all types of BS. I am going to do a 5 speed swap. Someone suggested this combo but cant remember which one. If I am not mistaken the important part of the clutch from what I notice is the disc. If the disc is gone then the car wont move. I have both complete kits in my garage. I have a ACT kit and a stock kit. I know someone is bound to fck up my ride since my brothers and dad drive the car. I may boost it. So which is the best suggested combo and why? I am willing to test the this crap out and see how everything goes.

ACT Pressure plate and stock disc? and why

OR

ACT disc and stock Pressure plate and why?

or Neither

some **** might break just go all out ACT since the clutch clamps.

post your facts opinions and lets draw a conclusion and if it sounds good I am willing to do it.

ACT HD PP with NISSAN factory clutch disc.

If you don't need the clutch setup (if it is not slipping from power) I'd stay factory everything as long as you can get away with it. With boost I wanted to try the setup above

ive got act pp with clutchnet 8 puch sprung hub disc i love it, easy to take off and grabs like a mother fer. should hold alittle more power than a stock disc and still ant nere as harsh as a solid hub puck clutch. best of all ive experienced very little to no chatter and theres no breakin on a ctutchnet disc

ive heard that the act street disc is the exact same specs as OEM disc

Did the 5 speed swap. I was going with a str8t ACT set up. Turned out the ACT disc was pretty worn and I had two great conditioned Stock discs. I used the ACT Pressure plate and a stock disc.

You guys think that **** will hold 8-11PSI boost? If you know what your talking about post!

I think ACT uses either a stock or modified stock disc. So I think the ACT with an oem disc would be fine. Going with Nissan PP and ACT disc would do nothing IMHO. Subs post is interesting.

here's a few pics you might want to take a look at....

Ve 5 spd... Original clutch ~150k miles old...

worn out factory disc:

LuK disc with about 15k miles on it:

http://www.mattblehm.com/pics/car/clutch/IM000258.JPG

the ACT disc looks very similar to the OE disc (I think it has the same 4 springs, but I forget now)..
I took the first pics of the OE clutch when I was installing an ACT street disc.. I blew the tranny about 20k later and I didn't get to see the clutch before the tranny shop threw it away. (bastards)
they installed the LuK clutch... I've hated it since day one, and has gone to complete **** after my third day (in two years) at the dragstrip.. the PP is basically gone. I'm not sure what's wrong with it yet, as I haven't pulled it from the car.. but it doesn't grab as it should when shifting.. can't even bark 2nd anymore. when it's cold, it shifts okay, but when it warms up, I can't shift at all. have to shut the car off at stoplights to get into gear. dunno whether I've cooked the PP due to heat or if I've broken some fingers off the PP... either one could cause this... but what I WILL tell you is that I'm going with an ACT street disc setup again as soon as I get home.

uhhh, dunno if that made any sense or not.. had a few margaritas at dinner, so I'm a little fuzzy right now.

after speaking to one of my technical advisors (BigdogJohnx) over the phone he explained why the ACT PPL with Stock Disc was not a bad idea. I did it because out of three discs my old stock disc was almost new. I drove my car with sense when it was bone stock. I threw that sucker on with a ACT PPL. Someone suggested that so lets see if it can hold 50shot or 10PSI. Dont know which one I am going to go with yet!

ACT disc is quite different then the stock disc. Dont know if you seen one. I have compared both side by side.
