I just got a FSTB from my friend cuz it didn't fit his Max for some reason... I've done an FSTB install on my Mustang, but it didn't involve taking the nuts off anything like it does on the Max. Are there any precautions I need to take, or can I just remove the nuts and put them back on?

remove the nuts, mount fstb, tighten nuts up to spec

 

tighten the nuts with a torque wrench up to 30lbs.

 

just make sure the car is nice and supported. i remember an...interesting story about a buddy who did it at the same time as his from brakes. so, long story short, he had the car jacked and wheels off when he released the struts from the frame. Just be smart, keep it stupid simple

after you torque the bolts, make sure you adjust the bar the RIGHT WAY(pushing the strut towers out, not pulling them toward each other).

 

Yeah, I was gonna ask that too - this is my first adjustable STB... Do I just adjust it so it's kind of pushing on the studs/bolts before I tighten the nuts back down?

 

I'd go ahead and put the bar on, put the nuts on loosely, adjust the bar to where it's pushing the struts outward and not inward, and then torque the bolts down. DO NOT over-adjust it, because you might bend the plates/brackets that rest on the strut towers.
