Well Im back (long)

Totalled my 1996 3.2 TL today, heres the story: Was going down a windy road and came down a hill, noticed gravel and debree and wet spots so I started to apply the brakes, well I under estimated how sharp the curve was and started to fish tail, next thing I know im going backwards at 40mph+ and I go sideways into a tree. My car was wrapped around the tree, the actual tree was behind my headrest when I realized what happend. I walked away with a bump on the head and a couple scratches on my hand from the glass. The tree was inches away from my head, im just glad I walked away ok, no one was around to witness the crash, but the few motorists that stopped were very helpful. Now I need to make sure the police dont charge me with wreckless driving, all I told them was that I hit a patch of debree and started fishtailing, so Im gona take pictures of the road to show where I lost control.

Im sad that I lost this car, it was great, but im glad to know it saved my life. So, next up will probably be a late-4thgen maxima, hopefully I dont get a ticket, or else it'll be a few months before I get another car. I will post pics sometime this week, when you see the wreck, you will really wonder how I got out of that alive.

Heh, yea, well its almost a relief because I was about to install like $300 worth of stuff into that car the following week, so im glad I can just sell the stuff once it comes in the mail.

It'll be nice to get a 4th gen now, because my TL had absoloutly no aftermarket support.

Haha, I know what you mean, but really, it was a nice car. Wasnt as quick as the max, but it put it to shame in luxury.

this is before the accident

You actually walked to tell this story. I am going to school and taking an EMT class and we prepare on how to take people out of cars in this type of situation. You are only lucky SOB. I guess god wanted you to live and tell the org about this story. Or he could have just wanted you to die after riding a max. Not an Acura. But you are seriously lucky and there must have been something that didn't want you to die. WOW!!!

Yeah when the paramedics came, all they did was checked my blood pressure and told me I was fine. They couldnt beleive i was ok, from what the people told them over the phone, they thought i was nearly dead. Thanks everyone, I really do realize how lucky I am, and will take it to thought on what car I get next if its not the max, you can never prevent accidents, you can only get a safe car.

Glad you're alright, the pics make it look really bad! TL's are good cars, but why did you have that rack on the trunk?

Anything with alot of power is alot for insurance. If you don't call $1400 for half of year high, buy yourself a DSM you will be smilling for rest of your life!!!

No no, I meant Ive got one car im looking at right now thats rwd, V8 and will be less on insurance and repair costs. Hint, you probably see them everyday and they are a common "company" car.

I remember that, Bryan... and YOU were just as lucky as Chase was. That'd almost qualify for one of those "...And they walked away" videos!!

cmon, you probably see this car everyday, especially if you live somewhere like NY. This car has a lot of potential, but no one notices it.

caprice classic?

All the company cars around here are either Ford Taurus or Dodge Stratus.

Yep its a crown vic, at first I was skeptical, but for the money, I can do a lot of engine mods for not too much money. They have a lot of potential, and are super cheap on insurance, and very reliable + safe. Not to mention, when someone looks in their mirrors and sees one, they wont know if its a cop or a reg. person, so that adds a bit of stealth to it.

haha there's a guy here with a crown vic. It's an old police surplus one, he left the black and white paint job and the spotlight on it.

When it was registered he got the old style Blue on Amber plates, which are only on older cars, permanent fleet and police/undercover cars.

Scares the **** out of me every time.

The only way to tell it apart is from the side, because he has 19's on it
