How fast are stock 91 Civic Hatchback SI? I know they have 108hp and weigh around 2200lbs. My girlfriend was challenged by her sister's boyfriend. She has a 95 240SX and he has the SI. She won't race him unless she's sure she can win. I know I could whoop him in my Max, and I always spank her when I run against her. How do you think she'll do against the SI?

The EF Civics are pretty slow. Mid 16s. They weigh a bit more than 2200lbs, closer to 2400lbs. The CRX of the same year weighed 2200lbs.
I don't know the stats on a 95 240sx, let alone any 240sx...but, i'm sure if she can do high 15s, she's got him easily.

My friend has a 95 240sx and its pretty peppy for a 4 cylinder... he wanted to see how much he could keep up with my max and each time we went he got me off the line cause he has RWD and didnt spin them, but i quickly caught up and left him in the dust if its an older Si im sure she cant take him though but i doubt she could take a 2000 Si theyre pretty quick for a civic

Not really related, but an SI story nonetheless. A coworker of mine has a 99 civic SI. I raced him in my 2k auto max and beat him soundly. He said he didn't get a great launch, but he did chirp his tires shifting from 1st to 2nd. It was a pretty good race up to about 40, but I was ahead the whole time.

Be careful of those Civics. This guy I work with has a 94 Si hatchback (~2400lbs) w/ b16 DelSol motor in it (he thinks its around 165hp, I'm thinking a little more). Man that thing cooks! It's insane, he shifts at ~9400rpm's! He's run low 15's at the track but has beaten a friends Integra on the street that runs ~14.8 consistantly on the track. I've driven in his car and it is definitly in the 14's...

Well, as for the Civics, I hold my head in shame but a '93-ish Civic Si Hatchback (no idea what kinda mods were in it, loud and raspy though) took my stock '95 GLE in a kinda half-assed race, I never really got above 3000 rpms....I mean, under normal conditions I would have smoked him but losing to him with 2 friends in the car...well, kinda embarrassing to say the least.

that figure is a little low for a 1/4 on a 240... theyre probably like low to mid 16's stock... check out some sites for actual stats but im sure its into the 16's because i took my friend pretty good in my 95 auto max.. his 95 240 was also auto im not sure how much quicker it is in stick...

my last car was a 240sx 5sp. it was quick, but i also didn't do any performance mods to it besides new tires. i would definitely say that in a MAX you have NOTHING to worry about. The RWD on the 240sx helps, but it was also a 4cyl that didn't pull too much after you hit about 50mph. go get em' Jude!

i have a 95 max in auto and a friend of mine has a 2000 Si with an intake and i wanted to see what it had so we went for a ride... its quick for a civic and its figures should be close to us, but i dont think it could beat us and he was shifting at like 8250 or so he was redlining it! he claims that he could take me in a short distance but not on the highway but i think i could beat him in the short run also.. one of these days during our break at school were gonna catch a light and see what happens... im confident that i can beat him though lol. all i have for performance is a stillen intake... peace

Yes, you can take them. I even took out a Civic SI with at least an intake, don't know what else he had, but it didn't help. I think an Integra GSR or Prelude is more of a challenge. Now, with those cars, it's not a sure thing that you can take them. I lost to my friend's GSR, he had an intake and Greddy exhaust. That was before I have my CAI. I think I can take him now because I took out a GSR with an intake, exhaust, and MSD ignition. I do have to say to be careful with those Civic though. You never know if one of has an engine swap, turbo, supercharger, or nitrous. It's weird, where I live, it seem like all the really fixed up Civics are just ricers that you can beat easily. And the Civics that have an engine swap, turbo, supercharger, or nitrous are the ones that almost look like stock. Talk about being a sleeper.
