so let me get this straight
in your way of thinking this would be true in the same aspect

supercharge a 89 gt mustang
supercharge a 2k1 maxima

same hp?
true
DIFFERENT MOTORS.

come on dude 302 compared to vq is like apples to oranges

VE compared to VQ is like RED apples to GREEN apples

plus think of it this way
there are proboly at least 5 VE 5spds producing 190 to 200whp

what did they do to get there main 4 things are intake, exhaust, ECU and a properly running VE

and you figure the average maxima gains about 10hp per 1lb so 8 psi would = 270 to 280whp

according to this guys dyno numbers http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=141052
its more like 15 to 18 hp per lb but i think his nubers are SAE corrected or somthing like that

MaXtUneD has dafinitly has intake (turbo) exhaust (3in) and ecu (SAFC)
the only thing were unsure of is a properly running engine and maybe tuning

im still waiting for him to post his milage because i dont see any reason to hide it like hes hidding the price and also to see if he has an original knock sensor

thats NOT going to even come close to the hp hes making over you

to tell you the honest truth your turbo should be just as efficient as his at 8psi

now at 12psi the story would deifintly change

also i dont think 4signs has an safc all he has is a FMU which is basicly guestimated for his aplication so his car isnt even tuned properly or else i hope we would have seen some dyno sheets by now

i agree 100% with you

im just so intersted because i have the same motor and have no really basis on what kind of power it will put down with boost

there are only 2 boosted VE's right now (on this board).

besides, right now you gotta give him a month or two to get used to the boost, then he'll play

maxtuned, i was wondering if you could take a few pics of your front exhaust manifold area, like where it comes off the block and goes to the turbo, i'm very interested to see the fitment and clearance with the piping.
thanks

heres a link of thebigsadlers 98 5spd with T3/T4 @5psi dyno @ 256whp WITH 2.25 EXHAUST

this setup has full 3in mandle bent with a similar sized turbo

i bet thebigsadler gained another 10whp with 3in exhaust thats 265whp still at @ 5psi

so i definitly think this thing should put down close to 280whp if not 290 or im going to be very disipointed

your right we dont know what the condition of the engine is maybe he has a bad knock sensor if so that would make a huge diference proboly 30 to 50 hp considering when mine was bad i bet i was seeing like 20hp loss when the engine would go into closed loop

non the less im not saying this is bad in any way i would kill to have 250whp but on the other hand im still thinking the VE should put down very very similar numbers as the VQ
Hard to tell what I made off of the 3" exhaust because 2 days later after exhaust opened things up and the car got used to it the wastegate spring let open to 7psi. And the guy who dyno tuned my car said 15-20whp on just 3" exhaust and high flow cat, add on 2 full psi to that and I think I am at the 300 mark easily.

I can't find an in-ground dyno around here yet, when I do I will get on it and get another run; car is WAY too low for a ramped dyno.
