any experience with EARL SCHEIB?
im desperate to get my dents, scratches fixed on my 97 pearl white. and i just saw this bodyshop in the ad. so i called them and they told me to come in but he said it would cost me around $400-500 for the whole car. Is this company any good? how are they workmanship? there is a website as well. earl scheib please give me some advise on this.....

They're terrible. You're better off finding a private shop owner thats been in business for year doing this stuff for a long time. The work I've had done at private shops didn't cost me much at all.

Yeah Ben is right you get what you pay for.
My uncle is in the Auto paint and body shop business here in Atlanta(for years) and he doesnt even cut me a deal on his paint jobs. He will send my car to Macco because I guess it just cost so much time and money. I mean he has paint my Maxima before I thought but after futher inspection you could tell the paint color was slightly off. But that could be because of the aging too on an 15 year old paint job too.

IMO if you have an older car in which a paint job costs more than the car than go with earl schieb...I did that on my 3rd gen a year ago and $500 got me new paint and a 5 year warranty...the car looked better than it had in the past months and brought some life back to the 13 year old car. paint held fine and even in my accident there was no peeling or anything at the contact points.
but I agree, if you have a newer car and wanna keep OEM quality(not the Nissan OEM quality paint is any good), go elsewhere, but if its a beater...Earl Schieb and the $500 w/ 5 year warranty is perfect!!

"I know a guy" and he's going to paint my whole car this summer. He does good work and is charging me WAY less than most larger shops would charge.

These guys have hit the nail right on the head. I had my 3rd gen painted at earl Schieb. Knowing the reputation of the shop, I did alot of the work on the car prior to them painting...as far as stripping the car, sanding and even taping some parts of it. When I dropped it off...it looked like a shell of its self, and the paint came out pretty damn good especially for the $350 that I paid for it. My sister drives the car now...and I can say that they paint has held up pretty freaking well. In fact...I'll post a recent pic of it...within the last week. So I say paint it there if you don't want to dumb at least $1k into the car.
When it was first painted:
This past weekend (after a wash):
Keep in mind its been 2/3 years now...I forget how long

years ago, my sister had a car painted there. It came out pretty good. It had some orange peel, but she brought it back and the fixed it for the bubble. you get what you pay for though. I wouldn't try it on a 97.
